The High End Of Low by Marilyn Manson | Album Review

The High End Of Low by Marilyn Manson | thetruejoe90.com

The album doesn’t seem to be as aggressive as the previous records have been (but i’ve been listening to this kind of thing for years). The pace has been reduced a little. It may have something to do with age and mellowing out but that doesn’t seem quite right for Manson, but definately, the metronome isn’t ticking like what it used to.

PARENTAL ADVISORY: Marilyn Manson‘s latest release The High End Of Low is a true, lustful, rapacious, powerful poetic piece of work with a level of vibrational depth and bassline sustenance that continues throughout the album, is quite simply brilliant.

The usual releases that are selected for the charts in my opinion are usually pretty lame musically where as the true pearls are hidden amongst the commercial tripe on pretty much all their work.

The lyrics are typically crude and rude but that’s what we like about him if we do. There are some great beats and rythym on pretty much all of the tracks on the album. Unkillable Monster epitomises that. Their fullness of sound is there as well along with the balance of it. The usual reverb is a little too much again on his vocals, but that wouldn’t be Manson either.

Hardcore fans shouldn’t be discrediting this record as some have. It’s a different level I feel and I’d say one above the last. The High End Of Low could perhaps in some peoples eyes and ears be lacking in pace and frantic contentiousness but if you listen to the lyrics and the material in it’s own right, you will realise what a beautiful album this is.

Check out some of the works beforehand on their MySpace page, but of course, remember that caution is advised due to lyrical content.

And yes, I did use the word beautiful.
