Go Now And Live by We Are The Ocean | Album Review

I find that when you talk to people on the phone, you can tell whether they are smiling or not. It makes a massive difference to people who are working in sales. Having a positive demeanour is paramount. It increases sales. When listening to the new album by We Are The Ocean, the energy they emit shows that they enjoy what they are doing so they’ve sold the album to me.
This second LP release is Go Now And Live. A harmonious, post-punk pop-rock act from London who have an upbeat tempo, sing-a-long lyrics and a positive attitude. I guarantee, as a live act I bet that they are a joy to watch.
You have two vocalists which can make the group seem like a bit of a manufactured boy-band but they work so well together. Contrasting voices supporting each other. One softer and slightly raw giving the song honesty. The other more clearer and refined with greater power. They sound great. Along with the drummer, bassist and other guitars playing, it’s a full sound, it’s a tight sound and it is all feel-good stuff.
Stand out tracks for me from the album would have to be The Waiting Room – below – with it’s conflicting and weaving lyrics supporting and battling each other to develop into an epic, melodious rock tune. Now And Then is more ballad like. It could become unplugged and made acoustically. The track is genuine, loving and uplifting. This is more so one for the ladies who like their rock music but gents, it’s a cool number.
I haven’t heard a rock album that makes me sing and smile like this for some time.
Go Now And Live by We Are The Ocean is out now released by Hassle Records.
