Strawberry Fields Festival 2011 | Events | Preview

In a small spot not to far away from what was once one of the biggest and best club nights in the UK – Passion @ The Emporium, Coalville – in the village of Heather, Leicestershire there is Cattows Farm where you can pick your own strawberries in the year and on the last bank holiday weekend of the year, festival mayhem.
Travelling to a festival is part of the pleasure and also part of the pain. To be able to get a taxi to one with your tent in it happens to be a bit of bonus. Being as I’m fortunate to live in the heart of the National Forest, having the ‘Strawberry Fields Festival’ pretty much on my doorstep happens to be quite a pleasure.

This weekend gig has come from nothing to something in the space of only one year. Nominated for the Best New Festival 2010 and Best Small Festival 2010 and will no doubt be one of the best this year too. With small local acts, breaking bands and chart topping artists all mixing it up on 4 different stages. On the bill we have familiar names such as Rizzle Kicks, Beardyman, Mystery Jets, Kissy Sell Out, A.Skillz, Jaguar Skills and BRIT Award, Q Award and NME Award winner and two time Grammy Awards nominated, Kelis.
To get more information about the event head over to the Strawberry Fields Festival website and if you want to grab the last few tickets, do so online where they are available until midnight tonight. Directions are here, website is here, tickets are here.
