You can not deny that the country of Spain is definitely one of the best for breakbeat tunes. This latest release from Elektroshok Records exhibits my opinion perfectly with 4 originals and remix from the head honcho Guau himself. This piece of broken beat electronica is a soulful joy created by Green Firm.

With an intro that warms you up in the way that trance music does the firest track ‘Where Is My Money’ glides along with the sound of running stream of water, a couple of soft glittering high tones followed by a drop into a lazy bout of grungey mids, a head-nodding groove and the occasional warbling wave. A cheeky, one-wink kind of vibe on this one so it is likely to be appreciated by many.

On this very minimal breaks tune ‘Nerve’ we see and hear some smart skills. The drum track along with the motivating bassline bounce is truly infectious. It builds nicely to a break in the midst of the track to a wondrous drum solo which is then welcomed by a steamrolling barrage of beating bass.

Now ‘Technogenic Alarm’ is just brilliant. A relentless slapping of electronic bass effects with an heavy industrious steel drum clanging away, it grows into a piercing onslaught of effects and vibe that will cause the crowd to adorn their war-faces. The remix by Guau is broken up further and he combines the progressing variances of the original and mixes them up throughout the track adding more trembling mids with a tingle of funky tech.

The last tune on the release ‘Crazy Rocker’ is indeed a little crazy. A complex composition of tweaks and bleeps ensues on this rumbling, moody number which has a similar prodding bass beat as the absolutely immense tune, ‘Compute’ by BSD – producer Colombo’s former project. The main hook brings you in and prepares you for the manic finale.

A straight forward no-nonsense release with a ton of funky filth.
