The third and final instalment into 140 beats per minute movement, Pyramid have banged out a couple of tracks that are serious killer tunes sticking to their belief that the futuristic jungle bounce is worth the push.

Right, let’s not mess about here because this little EP is precisely a no-messing about piece of kit.

These two pieces of formulated mayhem are deep, dark and frantic. Ready For Blast Off is a breakbeat, jungle, drum and bass demented work of production madness. One moment steady, then progressive, then sheer lunacy, it’s a killer track and definitely not one for those who are faint of heart or rather, pussies. New boundaries I feel have been pushed and this is a milestone for their work.

Feel Like Jamming, the second single on the release begins with a prominent drum beat, dips into a section of niggling static teasing you to the boom, then out comes the haunting, sinister and piercing electronic bassline which weaves in and out the echoing vocal fill-ins.

This is the only way Pyramid rolls and boy, do they know how to roll.

The 140 EP Part 3 by Pyramid is released by Funkatech records and is out now only on Beatport but then released everywhere else on June 20th 2011.
