There are global releases and then there are global releases like this. A 7 track double EP split into two parts is coming out from Elektroshok Records and their Rough Division on the same day. This is their debut release from South African producer Pziezzo Electric with a Hip-Hop vibe vocals from Bakaman and strong femininity from Zami with remixes galore!
There is a gargantuan release on route from the Spanish studios of @Elektroshok_Rec with a string of remixes for ‘Square Shaped Circles’ by the South African bringer of beats @pziezzoelectric. The string itself is an ensemble of 7 tracks and split up into two with one of them being solely a breaks remixes EP which will be released by Elektroshok itself whilst the main EP is out on a sub-division of the label Rough Division. So, we will have one original and four remixes on one and then the two breaks remixes on the other.
Up first of course is the original which is very much a vocal duet between the stalwart Bakaman and the passive-aggressive voice of Zami. This is a funky, hip-hop track that fiercely bounces along with a great big, gritty bassline of ravenous filth and trembling electronic waves encompassing the glitchy, broken beats.
Now this version goes more down the dubstep route but it begins lightly and with minimal sound but you have all heard a few dubby tracks before now so you already know the barrage of bass that is likely to ensue. It does. The groove from the original is still present but reduced in pace and then pelted with subs. The bass is so enthralling and it dominates your attention. It soon dips into a pleasant electronic trickle of notes and tones and then the rumble returns softly building up to once again violate your ear-drums. This is the glorious work of Italian producer Maztek.
This is an offence on your senses. This is just as full in depth as the dubstep version but instead producer Kung has refixed this with ferocious effects and such an alluring bass patch it is like a magnet drawing you in against your will. This is the chart dominator.
One guy who is fast becoming hot property at the moment is Russian DnB maestro Engage. With himself dabbling with electro aswell, his take on it brings us a bouncier version with piercing bleeps and dirty tweaks but still maintaining much of the vocals from the original.
No release is complete without some form of euphoric electro number and this is it brought to us from Spaniard Michael White. With elements of Skrillex and Wolfgang Gartner we have some big-room vitality here with small growls, sharp electronic spike effects and a boat load of echo to fill out the biggest of venues. Still with plenty of the vocal samples included, this is a fun remix and very difficult not to dance to.
So the five tracks I have mentioned above are taken from the Part 1 EP soon to be released by Elektroshok Records’ Rough Division. Whilst here below, we get back to the breakbeats with the Part 2 EP, and what breakbeats we have.
This is a really fun remix by Basehead and Viro & Rob Analyze. It has the right pace of beat for everyone to get along with for a start. It has filth, it has funk and it has such a cracking bounce to it, it is highly infectious and captivating. Very NAPT.
Bringing up the rear for the seventh version of this release we have a 2-Step take on things from Mark Krupp who brings such a wonderful piano riff starting us off just like with the original but with far more realism rather than being synthetic. The urban techno vibe weaves in and out of the lyrics as they continue on and as it moves forward, the track grows on you. Very much for the 2-Step and Garage fans.
These two tracks are on the ‘Breaks Remixes EP’ which will be released straight out from Elektroshok Records. Like I said before, this is a gargantuan release. It is massive, huge and very much one that will have Pziezzo Electric in almost every genre chart by the end of the month. Most of us have not heard of Pziezzo Electric but we won’t forget him after this.
‘Square Shaped Circles’ by Pziezzo Electric ft Bakaman & Zami w/ Remixes Part 1 and Part 2 will be released on Monday 13th February 2012 with Part 1 from the Rough Division of Elektroshok Records and Part 2 from Elektroshok themselves.
