I love happy stories of personal progression. Small time one minute, then big time the next. All because they have been spotted by the right person after working hard in their field. I believe this to be a similar story to @Monk3ylogic who have gone from reasonable success to now possible global stardom after being given the green light for a remix with one of the biggest music labels on the planet.

I was fortunate enough to get a few minutes with them and here’s how we went:

Some Summer then?! I caught you guys at a dreary Glastonbury Arcadia stage. It’s an excellent stage setting, what did you think to it?

Amazing!! The work and production that goes into it is incredible. When the night falls and it’s in full swing it is definitely one of the best stages we have seen. The pyrotechnics and Tessler coil really charge the atmosphere, well worth experiencing if you haven’t already.

I agree entirely. It is some experience.

Where else have you been since?

Over the summer we also played at Glade, Nozstock, Waveform and since then we have had a number of gigs right across the country. We also have recently come back from a brilliant gig in Baden, Switzerland and also had the pleasure of playing at the wedding of some very good friends of ours. Highly amusing playing fully suited up for a wedding.

hahahahaha! Bad Tango’s track ‘Cortex’ which had a remix from yourselves, that’s done very well hasn’t it? Are you surprised?

Mostly yes! It still feels like early days for us so getting another No.1 on Trackitdown left us with a great feeling. However Bad Tango’s original is a really good track and was a pleasure to remix so we were hoping the release would do well!

With the recent success of your latest releases, is this how come you’ve been approached by ‘Perfecto Fluoro’? How did this come about?

We’d been in contact with Perfecto prior to ‘Cortex’ coming out and I think we were just lucky that they liked our sound based on the releases and promos they’d heard. Going by what has recently been released and remixed on Perfecto Fluro it seems like they really like the new wave of psybreaks we’re involved with, and we certainly like the breaks tracks they have released so far!

I like the sound of them as well. With a remix for Oakenfold’s ‘Perfecto Fluoro’ coming out, it is for some new artists of theirs so is this a relationship blooming?

We hope so.

I hope so too! So what’s the track like then?

The original track for the remix has this big anthemic breakdown and some lush floaty pad sounds, whilst still having some bite with some nice blippy fx noises. We hopefully kept some of the epic vibe of the original whilst making our breaks remix a bit tougher, with the floaty pads drifting over a rolling bassline, interupted by lots of glitches and edits, then building into some full on growling bassline monk3y breaks madness after the drop!
