With a score of releases with various labels across Europe @leucerhythms are still continuing to make some cracking electronica after almost a decade in the game. From breakbeats to electro and dabbling with the fusion in-between, this latest EP release out next week weaves between the two genres and also with the addition of some funky tech.

First up is ‘Power Blaster’. An abrasive, rolling breaks track with some psytrance tweaks and bleeps suspended above the very good indeed drum track. The drum track sounds crisp, clean and it is quite a thumping one too with the occasional cowbell poking in. There is a lovely break with an Old Skool style keyboard riff which progresses up towards a deep, dark drop where the rolling breaks continue.

The track titled ‘Electro’ is another gritty number with fluctuating high tones floating above the trembling mids and choppy bassline, it travels along with a menacing groove suitable for any war-mask wearer on the dance-floor.

@davegammie aka Rebel Sketchy strips ‘Power Blaster’ back and rebuilds it for his remix adding a touch of gerth. The track has injected some funky wubs and wahs which makes this a bit of a fatter version even though the removal of the psy-effects has taken place with the healthy beat driving the tune along nicely.

The ‘Power Blaster/Electro’ EP by Leuce Rhythms is released by the sub-label of 720Bass, Future Perfect Records on January 23rd 2012.
