Plump DJs Present Dirty Weekend EP1 from Grand Hotel Records [Electro House]

Grand Hotel Records, the label imprint of the Plump DJs have released this filthy, Electro EP that contains three of the dirtiest numbers roaming the offices of GHR HQ. With material from the Plumps themselves, it features the work of Bonsai Kat, Reset!, Nom De Strip and Submo.

Grand Hotel Records is the label of the @PlumpDJs and after a very credible and successful start for their new imprint, it is getting bigger, better and gathering a lot of interest from a score of fascinating producers from various parts of the planet. This latest release sees a slightly unorthodox approach as it contains simply, three quality Electro tracks. It doesn’t matter who has done them or if they are remixed, if they are primetime quality containing elements of a filthy weekend night out, then it ticks the right box and makes it onto the EP.

> 'Test Dem' by Submo

Electro with a dirty dutch house flavour from @Submo. ‘Test Dem’ has a prominent drum track booms away with a bass tone that can punch your lights out and screeching mids that can tear the membrane surrounding your ears and that’s about it on this minimal piece of filth. This is hardcore peaktime Electro for those who like it a bit on the naughty side.

> 'Light Fantastic' by Plump DJs The Reset! Remix

At a moderate 130pm this is a solid release from the @PlumpDJs with @RESETMILANO on the remix. This is ready for the peaktime once again and primed for building the crowds up even further. A progressive start as the tune builds up into a trance euphoric vocal piece and then out come the rumbling electro effects that climb up into a piercing, high pitch and then dropping bass upon your war-face. It’s a gutsy, trippy monster with cracking echoes to fill any venue because of the weight it carries. Not very light at all but still fantastic.

> 'Egotripping' by Bonsai Kat The Nom De Strip Remix

I’m going to have to call this one the preference from the EP because of the general fullness in sound and it could be down to @NomDeStrip on remix duties of this Bonsai Kat track. ‘Egotripping’ has got a meaty bassline and lovely riffs flowing throughout it which makes it a good floorfiller too because of the slightly funky groove that it possess. The tune herds the crowd together and when it drops, dancefloor destruction, but in a nice way rather than a manic one. It still has a small essence of dirty dutch again so it will travel well across many clubs across the globe. Oh yeah, and it’s filthy.

If it is called ‘Dirty Weekend’ for a reason then I’d say it’s very appropriate. But this is only EP1, we still have EP2 to go yet.

‘Plump DJs Present Dirty Weekend EP1′ from Grand Hotel Records is out now.
