With the Moombahton genre picking up pace in the US and slowly injecting itself into the UK Dance scene thanks to the likes of DJs Annie Mac and Toddla T on the radio waves, Jon Kwest has cunningly brought together an astonishing compilation of old skool rave tunes and revamped them with the mature sexiness that they deserve.

On this mixtape of Moombahton Vs UK Hardcore we’ve got some raving classics with the pace reduced to the more seductive tempo of dirty, dutch house.

In the mix we’ve got Jon Kwest chucking his bits of work as well as DJ Melo and Smutlee who to me are rather renowned within the flirtatious sub-genre. The classics for the Old Skool ravers include tracks originally done by 2 Bad Mice, Acen, Circa ’91, including a few others.

The remixes are all credible and worthy for listening to by the ‘then’ and the ‘now’ generations.

Having these timeless tunes given a new lease of life, perhaps the moombahton genre will hit home to mid-life crisis ravers sooner than to the kids of today. For me, I consider myself a fine line between the two (of course). So I say, this is a brilliant mixtape.
