LA House music producer Rocco Rampino aka @congorock was introduced to me by the Swedish House Mafia through their global stunner ‘One’ and now along with The Bloody Beetroots doing a remix of his track ‘Ivory’, once again, Congorock is associated with stunning the globe with this latest House music must-have. I use the term “must-have” because I would expect at the moment that a majority of Electro/House music DJ’s across the planet are gurning in their booths to this roof-raising stomper.

The original version is described as “Elephant Bass” which you can hear perhaps why. The steep rise from the gritty depth to the high pitched tones gets everyone off their backsides onto the dance-floor with great speed. It has some progressiveness in the break but it has a drop and a vibe that is simply, animal.

If elephants had razor sharp teeth rather than ivory tusks then this would be the example. The @BloodyBeetroots remix has been broken down quite a lot and re-produced massively taking the tack as his own. There are additional classic piano trinklets as fans of Sir Bob would expect. The tune is more on the Electro House side so there are more electronic screeches, almost disturbing mid levels with sounds that can shatter bone or even ivory for that matter and typically “Beetroots” mental as well as typical “Beetroots” wonderful composition.

I like the work of Congorock and I very much like the work of the ‘Beetroots so it is difficult to ignore and not see the greatness in these electronica based records. They are just wicked despite being blocked on Twitter by Sir Bob but I will not hold that against him. I was previously retweeting his work quite a lot, he should have taken it as a compliment because his material is brilliant, just like this.
