Hate On This by Refracture | EP Review
Let me get one thing straight off from the start. This is cool. Refracture is a lad that I don’t believe I have heard of before nor any of his works, so when I came across his material moments ago, I was genuinely quite excited about it after giving it a listen.
Hate On This is an EP in a slightly different format to how they seem to be nowadays. Normal. Three tracks. Three originals. No remixes. All of them good. Great in fact.
The title track begins like a sweet trance record from the likes of Tiesto and then everything fades out, the silence before the storm, then the storm arrives with a few thunderous wobbles near the end. Jahova is a blinding record with an aggressive rap lyric resembling that of the great Tupac Shakur and an awesome, deep, techy rumble supporting the flow. The third track Run has a beautiful level of sub partnered up with an old school rave riff brought together in the middle with some tarnished electro chords.
I’m struggling to pick a favourite out of the awesome three but for me, Jahova edges it.
Like what I said before, this is cool.
