Producer, DJ, artist and now label director @TimHealey has a new signing to his label @surferrosa_rec – Surfer Rosa Records – with Sao Paulo based Brazilians, @BlackSparkLive.

With their first outing on the labels “baker’s dozen” release we have the kind of electro house sound that the biggest DJs are gearing up for combining the likes of deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia and recent prodigy Porter Robinson.

The first track on this double A is ‘Give It Up Now’ followed by ‘Fry Your Brain’ which sounds quite a contrast. The former has big 80′s synths with a progressive climb to a drop that is very complex in sound. Wahs, waves and wobbles along with stuttering glitches and sultry lyrical samples teasing you as the song journeys forward to the almost euphoric big-room break which in time returns to the stomping. The latter track possesses Balearic pianos twinkling up towards a growling, juddering bassline with some Pendulum-esque trembling effects weaving within some angelic choir voices jumping in giving the track additional gravitas to this anthemic crowd pleaser.

As new signings and new beginnings for Black Spark it is a great start as the tunes have weight, guts and harmony with plenty of cheek.
