These tracks on the Focus Now EP are beautiful and sultry deep house tunes with the title track being a little more on the techno side. Minimal and dreamy suitable for 5am whether you’re getting up early or getting home late.

Showcasing off her diverse talent and skills, this latest release by Maya Jane Coles is impressive to say the least and massive support is being received from some of the dance music monarchy. Nick Warren, Laurent Garnier, Layo, to name but a few.

These tracks on the Focus Now EP are beautiful and sultry deep house tunes with the title track being a little more on the techno side. Minimal and dreamy suitable for 5am whether you’re getting up early or getting home late.

Little One, the second tune is bringing up the tempo a little and with a slightly more fuller sound. Still marvellously intricate and yet simple in sound it is an art to put something like this together and shows off her production skills.

Senseless has the ability to boost up the libido with the beat and the tone of the track. The seductive vocals weave throughout the progressing swagger of the tune. It’s light and tasteful and shows of a higher class than some of the material within the dance charts today.

The last track, The High Life combines all of the skills from the previous tracks into one. Seemingly minimal but with great complexity in the track. There’s a lovely subtle reoccuring bass note giving some depth to this relaxing house number. It’s quite exquisite.

If Maya Jane Coles releases works similar to this then I believe that she too will be soon classed as a superstar DJ herself in time to come.

This EP is such a delight you should have a look at her forthcoming remix of Tricky’s Time To Dance which is already en route.

The Focus Now EP by Maya Jane Coles is out now released by 2020 Vision Recordings.
