DJ Rick Valentine Presents Progression
The show as you may predict is in the style of progressive trance with elements of house and electro with some big beats thrown in for good measure. All of these ingredients produce a mix fit for the motivational beginnings of a night out, whilst you are in the midst of one or even when you’re sitting on a bed with your laptop on your knees awaiting dinner to be served.
I think it was a Friday – might have been Thursday, could’ve been Saturday – when dancing whilst the sun went down casting it’s rays over the field of the Glade Stage at Glastonbury, last year. I stayed impatiently through several awesome sets before I got to the front for the Sasha presentation. I managed to stay for the entire Sub Focus onslaught which then followed with almost immense difficulty.
He was of course quite brilliant. The chap on before him however, was a touch more my “my bag”. I wasn’t seeing so many arms arms as I was about to reaching for the pretty green light beams. It was more solid. More grounded.
His name is John Graham and he performs under the name of Quivver. It was a brilliant set and fortunately, I’ve just spotted a recent remix – in the YouTube video below – in a Rick Valentine Progression mix.
Progression is every 2nd Tuesday on PureFM @ 20:00 GMT, replayed every 2nd Wednesday on SenseFM 18:00 @ GMT then replayed every 3rd Monday on LiquidFM 18:00 @ GMT. Podcasts are uploaded to Rick Valentine’s SoundCloud.
