Crack My Bones by The Shoes | Album Review

Crack My Bones by The Shoes | thetruejoe90.com

I don’t know where to begin with The Shoes. I spotted a piece on them a few weeks ago with their single ‘Stay the Same’ and even then I was taken aback. I found that they were sweet, warm and comforting, and that is pretty much what the entire album is like.

Certain artists can sell albums just by one track release alone and that is what these French gents have managed to achieve with me.

Each track is lyrically like the new romantics of the 80′s with subtle punchy sound of French electro. No wonder I can’t get enough of them because they are ingredients for an excellent record. I like the fact how the bass sounds like a bass guitar. The guitars sound like guitars and the drums sound like drums. ‘Crack My Bones’ has a soul.

The music engulfs you like a security blanket when your not feeling very well. It’s the helping hand offering to pick you up when you’ve fallen down. There’s a maturity to this album. Experience. Wisdom.

Their label must be extremely proud of their new signing as they have support from all over the dance music spectrum from DJ Alex Metric, French producer Gesaffelstein and living legend Etienne de Crecy. This should indeed be a success but I feel that they don’t need high profile fans to make it as the quality of material is more than credible enough to well by itself.

Below I have put up a player with all of the tracks from the album so you can hear it yourself.

‘Crack My Bones’ is the debut album by @theshoesmusic and it is out now on Southern Fried Records.

UPDATED: ‘Time To Dance’ has been released as a single and the new music video is included below. So far, on 320 views.
