Blow Your Head Vol 2: Dave Nada Presents Moombahton by Various Artists | Album Review

This instalment is the second from Mad Decent records in the Blow Your Head series and this is Dave Nada Presents Moombahton, a various artists album with many acts that a lot of people would not have heard before in the UK but are coming into their own in the US with the moombahton movement which Dave Nada has created – click “HERE” for further explanation.
The Summer is pretty much here – at least it will be after the session of rain and showers – and then, the festivals and the partying shall commence. Shorts, bikinis, sunglasses, barbecues. Oh yes, and the music. Music is what makes a party. If the tunes aren’t right, then it’s an immediate fail. If it’s a party you want, then this is the album you need.
With the usual beats per minute reduced to a sultry 108, this is outdoor, sunshine party power. All of the tunes are keyed in to uplift the spirits, stomp the feet and party on hard.
Dillon Francis, DJ Melo, Diplo, Munchi (below) and others contribute to what is regarded as the big introduction of this infectious sub-genre of Electro House to the rest of the world. Singles and many an EP have been created and distributed around the globe making this the genre of the year. With steely carnival drums, penetrating and dynamic, punchy highs similar to dirty Dutch House, latino ladies adding additional vocals spicing up the libido and the overall pace brings a laid-back attitude perfect for Summertime debauchery.
If there is one album for the Summer, so far, this it. This is the party piece.
I’ve included the album sampler and a very teasing video to tempt you into moombahton life! A few tracks to wet your appetite and one of my faves has to be the Dillon Francis remix of Broken Hearts by Kito & Reija Lee bringing up the rear below. Enjoy.
Blow Your Head Vol 2: Dave Nada Presents Moombahton is out now released by Mad Decent records. It’s ace.
