Bouncing on the lines between bass driven beats and credible pop music, songwriter, producer and DJ Joshua Harvey who is better known as Hervé has a new track on the way which is soon to be accompanied by an album full of fresh and new talent in the new year.

The vocal House track ‘Better Than A BMX’ is going to be released with a score of remixes that includes @afghanheadspin – teaser below – Sedat The Turkish Avenger and Space Cowboy but also, to push the release further, as an early Christmas present the remix by Parisian producer @Housquaremusic is available right now as a free download – below.

The tune itself is a mixture of dirty bass with sweet piano riffs, uplifting vocals and an bouncy groove whilst the Housquare remix adds a touch of typical French class. With a majority of the vocals having been omitted the track now takes a more Techno approach which has essences of old skool, classic House music from days gone by. Also on the EP as mentioned before is the Afghan Headspin remix which again takes a slightly different turn. This teaser obviously shows that with the bass being much grittier and coarser in parts with the Electro style Breakbeats for those who require more filth and dancefloor moshing.

With a string of remixes from different styles of dance music as well as being an original record with a popular music edge, this covers quite a few bases so it is almost expected to do brilliantly well. Continuing that tradition the titled forthcoming album ‘Pick Me Up, Sort Me Out, Calm Me Down’ features not only the likes of Steve Mason, former lead singer of The Beta Band, but also introduces several exciting new vocalists such as Ronika who just been tipped by The Guardian for “pop greatness in 2012″. @ohronikagirl told me that herself and @hervespace have “written an opera about grandmothers”.

After writing a song about a person being ‘Better Than A BMX’, operatic grandmothers are not really much of a surprise.

The official music video – below – features pro-BMXers Ben Lewis, Peter Sawyer, Paul Ryan, Lloyd Wright and Kayley Ashworth, directed by Rohan Blair-Magnat and is produced by the BMX Adidas and Converse Office Lights advert team.

‘Better Than A BMX’ by @hervespace has just been titled as the “Hottest Record” by BBC Radio 1 and it will be released by @cheapthrillsrec on February 26th 2012.
