Be The One by Moby | EP Review | Official Free Download

If a man such as Moby can sell every single piece of music he has composed and produced – which has made him more than comfortably wealthy – to then to have these tracks from his latest EP release to be given away for free, then I would say that he is also incredibly generous.

To have all of his music sold to the masses, businesses on the radio, TV advertisements and alike, this is also a big teaser to the forthcoming album Destroyed which is to be out sometime in May.

This is the type of thing we would expect of Moby. He is a really nice man. He is a really smart man. He is a really good creator of marvellous electronic compositions. Even though these may be free tracks, these are by no means crappy cuts that were picked up from the computer recycle bin. The EP consists of the tracks Be The One, Sevestapol and Victoria Lucas which are on the anticipated album.

Beautiful and trance like with the calming Sunday afternoon feel as well as the delightful dancefloor ambience of community, joy and love. They sound like Moby’s work. The signature uplifting keyboards, the signature aggressive drumming, the signature electronically tweaked vocals. The signature sound of high quality production. It is Moby as we all know and should respect.

Music videos of each track have been created. Filmed on camcorders whilst our “little idiot” travels. For me, watching the video Sevastopol is like watching a daily account in the life of Moby but with a touch of envy and great empathic fatigue after the hours of time he must spend at airports or on a plane. (Notice the small Carl Cox cameo appearance.)

The EP is a broad taster as each track is different with the feel it gives off. Agitating also. I want to hear the new album right now. Be The One EP by Moby is available as an official free download from his site, HERE and he’ll be touring after the Summer but has just one date in the UK so far and that’s in June at The Roundhouse in London.
