Bass Effex by Monk3ylogic | The Mike Method, Eastmann & Hedflux Remixes | EP Review

Glitches, wobbles, tweaks and bleeps are gloriously in abundance and are peppered throughout the latest Monk3ylogic single, Bass Effex. The sonic journey that you find yourself in when listening to this record is awesome. You are literally carried along with it.

The variations in the other remixes are subtle but they are still notably there. With the original having a tougher, electro-house bounce, the Mike Method Breaks remix is softer in sound but harder on your feet. The Eastmann remix has a touch more sleaze added to it. A bass-line laden with filthy, dubby effects with one hell of a drop that would make any clubber scream with sinful joy.

Hedflux‘s remix is more of the minimal kind in comparison to the others. A lot more progressive in it’s build up. But then as the track continues to grow, the drop is more like a door opening inviting you in for the dancefloor takeover where you wrap yourself up in your bubble and head onwards through your psychedelic Bass Effex trip.

All 4 tracks are great in their own right with each of them having their own positively quirky differences reminiscent of the beginnings of hardcore psytrance from the East well over a decade ago. Cracking stuff.

The Bass Effex EP by Monk3ylogic with all of the remixes is out now released by Liquid Records only on: Beatport |
