Phantoms EP by Bird | EP Review | Introducing

As they are edging themselves away from their native West of England port, they are becoming riveted in acoustic shows across the airwaves and building a fanbase of the down-to-Earth, mature souls and I would assume being a comfort to teenage angst.

The day was a touch gloomy, clouds all over the place and then when the first couple of bars at the start of their set which stopped a few people in their tracks whilst wading through the potentially muddy surroundings. Immediately, they managed to captivate the audience.

The Call by Raized By Wolves feat. Tom Smith | Single Review w/ Eyes Remix | Official Free Download

Enormous, epic synths are within this classic ‘hands up in the air’ cliche but the beat is good with a booming bass supporting the huge, warm, atmospheric ambience that is synonymous with the likes of the forementioned superstar DJ’s and producers. It is definitive progressive house.

Homeward At Daybreak by Big Mosey | EP Review

Conceived in Brooklyn, New York, this pairing of “delirious and victorious” alternative rockers have a vibe which I feel is best matched to Stiltskin, singers of the ’94 Levi’s Jeans commercial with their one hit wonder ‘Inside’. With Big Mosey having influences like Pearl Jam, The Black Keys and Kings Of Leon, we already have an idea of what their musical sound resembles.

Pineapple Girl by Mister Heavenly | Single Review | Official Free Download

This tune in particular ‘Pineapple Girl’ resembles The Black Keys but more rockier and in places Frightened Rabbit but not as soft and also British bands such as The Fratellis. All in all, indie rock that is jovial and sweet in nature.

Forget Yourself / Wiyoo by Ronika | EP Review

You just can’t ignore the fact that the 80′s were great for music. The insurgence of synthesisers taking over from generic musicians after the mass movement of disco in the late 70′s, it was then when music changed and is a prominent part of dance music history. With the likes of Chromeo injecting their saucy disco-punk nowadays, La Roux dabbling with the same it’s good that the taste and flavour of this era is living on. It appears that it still is within new artist, Ronika.

BitterSweetHeartAttacks by Great Imitation | Single Review | Official Music Video

Upon first sight and sound in this spit-and-saw dust venue I was expecting the usual. Too loud, unbalanced and still, too loud. Not because I’m getting old or anything – although sometimes I feel it – it’s just that small venues can’t deal with a big sound. What I heard was crisp, refined and borderline insanity.

BBC Introducing DJ Mix by Refracture | Mixes

This guy right here is a guy to watch out for because he will be destroying the Beatport Breaks Charts before long and he WILL, I repeat, WILL be a name that many dance music producers will indeed know of. I am very sure of that, and you can quote me.
